Hydraulic Piston Accumulator

A hydraulic piston accumulator consists of a cylindrical pressure vessel with a movable piston separating the gas chamber (usually nitrogen) from the hydraulic fluid.When hydraulic pressure increases, fluid enters the accumulator and compresses the gas, storing energy. When system pressure drops, the compressed gas expands and pushes the stored fluid back into the system.
